I'm not sure about that. The E60 was pretty ugly and not too loved, but the F10 is a really nice car. You just have to understand that the current 5 better follows the spirit of the old 7's. If you want a modern version of a classic 5-series, you need to get an F30.

I would love to wrench on a Lada sometime. Ive master GM, Ford, Dodge, VW, Nissan, Toyota, Mercedes, Subaru and Saab. As an anthropologist, i see the engineering of a vehicle as a reflection of the culture that created it. Sometimes it really shines through. Over complicated German stuff, efficient Japanese stuff, confusing Scandanavian stuff, brute force American stuff...not a lot of opportunities for French or Russian stuff in central illinois. :(
